So I found out today that I was wait listed for my top choice school. Maybe getting wait listed doesn’t sound so bad, but as someone who has worked my butt off and maintained a super high gpa, I was crushed. However, I’ve been accepted to other great schools, and I suddenly remembered that a certain Raven boy from one of my favorite book series was in the same boat as me.

“It won’t be what you imagined, but it’ll be just as good.”

I actually highlighted this when I first read it, and I’m so glad I did. Seeing this quote again has reminded me that no amount of stressing and planning and making yourself sick over the future offers a guarantee that everything will turn out exactly the way you imagine it will. But that doesn’t mean it won’t be just as good. So thank you, @maggie-stiefvater for your wonderful words of wisdom.

ur welcome

Also, as someone who is far on the other side of college (and who is decidedly lukewarm, at best, about their alma mater), I do think it’s worth reminding Teh Youth that college is still not the endpoint/ goal/ real life. It’s just a tool you’re using to get to your goals/ real life, so don’t give it more emotional weight than it deserves. Focus instead on what comes next and also on the low, thrumming sound that is the ley line, you uncanny lizard child you.*

*wait that last one was just for Adam, plz ignore if you’re not him
