there’s something really funny about ronan describing this as “a lie” even setting aside the “declan’s superpower” of it all. i wouldn’t call it a lie even though it isn’t actually true (if we’re accepting that declan does not, in fact, have a secret spy network that has informed him that ronan is no longer a truant). like this really colors all of his claims that declan is a fundamentally dishonest person if he’s ready to go off about some garden variety passive-aggression
declan: hey it’s good to see you
ronan’s internal monologue: it was not good to see me. it was awful to see me, but declan was as allergic to the truth as he was to peanuts
