I went to one for one year with financial aid, and it was cult-like, ironically producing students who rebel against everything it stood for. A lot of parents send their kids to “non traditional” schools as punishment as well—believe me I know this and my little brother is threatened by it a lot. No one fucking acknowledges this !!! How messed up is it to use school as a punishment ???

You wouldn’t believe the fucked up shit private schools get away with. They NEED oversight. A lot of people don’t even know what to expect. There was a mom who wanted to send her kid to the one I went to for help with mental health, when in reality it treated mentally ill children horribly and if you were physically injured you wouldn’t even be taken to the nurse (I almost cut my thumb off in a woodworking class…)

Public schools have all sorts of issues but you’re a fucking moron if you think private school is a good alternative.
