it’s taken me about 10 hours to create the first 3 minutes of this video on my personal pedagogy for class and i have another 40 seconds to make before tomorrow at 2
I CAN DO IT
all week long my classmates have been approaching me to ask me questions about this project we’re doing AS IF I’M THE AUTHORITY and it makes me so happy bc clearly people see me as approachable and knowledgeable and they come to me stressed but after talking to me they always seem more confident and relaxed AND IT’S JUST NICE TO SEE MYSELF ALREADY BECOMING THE TEACHER I WANT TO BE

A long time ago I took a course on the sociology of marriage and my professor said “With compromise, you both lose. As a couple, you must collaborate on the best possible outcome.” Ever since, I never prioritize compromise in a relationship, only collaboration.
this seems like a great concept and all but. what does it actually mean?
Compromise is typically thought of as a 50/50 split amongst partner’s needs. They’re both left partially unsatisfied, but this dissatisfaction is deemed acceptable because it is ‘equal.’ However, with additional effort, many problems may be solved through collaboration; keywords: additional effort.
In collaborating, one may try to make the conflict more complex in order to expand the possible positive outcomes. This requires trust in both parties, empathy, and consideration for one another’s needs.
The objective should shift from getting what you want and ‘keeping things quiet’ to making sure your partner feels heard and considered (as they should do with you). Essentially, you must trust that your partner has your happiness in mind, and you must have theirs, instead of fighting for your own best interest.
For further explanation, Google “compromise vs collaboration.”
And with this I have learned what i always thought of as compromise was in fact collaboration
I’ve experienced both types of relationships and it’s so different when you are actually collaborating with someone.
You’re working on a group project and work towards common goals while considering the feelings and needs of your partner. Compromise is more like you building your ideal project and your partner building theirs and then the two of you try to push them together and, as said above, no one gets what they want.
hey more faithful mbmbam fans then me
why the fuck is their closing line “kiss your dad square on the lips”???
what’s the fucking deal with that? it’s super weird and kind of uncomfortable???
It’s a joke that hails from way back in the beginning of the podcast. I’ve never actually heard the bit but Justin was making a joke and said “kiss your Dad square on the lips” and it made Travis super uncomfortable and in true brotherly fashion Justin decided to end every episode with the phrase
These brothers give off the strongest brother energy I’ve ever seen. they’re multimedia entertainment tycoons and they’ve still managed to work sibling shits and giggles into the mainframe of their empire
George W. Bush is reportedly calling undecided senators to sway them to vote for Kavanaugh
So can we please stop framing him as some sweet little harmless old dude now?
George W. Bush helped shape the conservative “anti-abortion” movement as a political movement with teeth. He denied funding to health organizations that performed abortions or even that handed out condoms or other forms of birth control. I am not surprised in the least that he is throwing his weight behind anti-abortion Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh would have been exactly the Supreme Court nominee he would have chosen to help smooth the path after losing the popular vote to Al Gore but getting the electoral college and to help support him in starting an illegal war.
A lot of millennials were just children when George Bush was president. Many of us began truly paying attention to politics during the Obama Administration.
In turn, many of us don’t remember that George W. Bush was literally so evil and was the literal figure head and one of the fathers who pushed America’s current state of social ignorance. Islamophobia, Homophobia, Welfare discrimination, anti choice rhetoric, and imprisonment rates of Black Americans and Latinos. He was a vehement liar and a vomit inducing scoundrel. He catapulted this country into a useless war over oil and resources. Which has lead to the death and displacement of millions of innocent Middle Easterners/South Asians and built a strong base for Islamophobia. Literally, his administration set the base for the hundreds of thousands of current refugees.
Read up and get educated on why he isn’t just some “old man who likes to paint in his free time now that he’s not president”.
