it’s 2018 and I’m written so many words about Ronan Lynch and Adam Parrish in the last year and I still think the best ship name I’ve ever seen for them in the TRC fandom is #the mechanic and the tool
I think about Ronan’s hand fetish a LOT. Like imagine Adam is fixing the Hondayota, his hands are dirty af with oil and gasoline. Because Ronan thinks gasoline smells “sexy and summery”, he just walks over and put Adam’s hand to his face and enjoy it. Adam is like “Jesus Lynch let me wash my hands first” but Ronan is like “Hell naw” and Adam just gives up and watches his bf smell his hand with a smile omfg. Or it’s just simply Ronan smelling Adam’s mist and moss hands.
it’s interesting how one of the very first things adam thinks about right after he kisses ronan for the very first time is the fact that he’s leaving the state in a couple months. because that just speaks volumes about how adam knows that if he does this, if he starts this with him, there isn’t going to be anything casual about it. it’s going to be real and important and lasting. and when he does leave, he’s either going to have to break up with him, which he doesn’t want, which isn’t really an option, or he’s going to have to come back to the place he wanted to leave forever. and that’s why ronan’s the difficult choice — not because he’s a boy, or because adam doesn’t care deeply about him — but because he’s all-or-nothing, because there’s no room for doubt if he decides he wants this.

and then we have adam waking up at the barns the morning after — adam who’s been dreaming of leaving this state his entire life and is so close to finally getting out — realising that now he has a reason to come back. he’s made the difficult choice and it’s not so difficult after all — because he’s been looking back at him all these months, because he’s been feeling it too. it’s always been real. and if that’s not love, then i don’t know what is.
i just love that one of the first observations about ronan that we get from adam’s pov is that he doesn’t understand casual relationships or infidelity, and then in trk adam thinks “he was pretty sure he had just been ronan’s first kiss” when they have their kiss, and he knows that ronan kissing him means that he basically wants to spend the rest of his life with him, and of course it’s heavily implied that adam has known ronan was gay before the series started
like even though they’ve most likely never actually talked about any of these things and ronan is a very private person and puts on a front that says the very opposite to most people, adam just Knows all of this, what is it about ronan lynch that screams “gay monogamous virgin who has obviously never kissed anyone and mates for life”
