It honestly shouldn’t even shock me at this point since it’s been a thing for about 15 years now, but it really is incredible that one of the major political parties in the US is just openly, unaplogetically pro-torture
And the other is quietly pro-torture as long as it’s done politely and no one knows about it
Yeah as I was typing this I remembered that time that the Obama administration invited a man famous for using a power drill to torture religious minorities to a White House dinner because he had since gotten an Iraqi government position
